Trust and Obey – Is There Really no Other Way?

Sara Davison is an phenomenal writer whom I had the privilege of meeting over coffee at local cafe and attending a writer’s retreat with. It was during our first aqaintance that Sara shared some very helpful tips and advice to me about publishing my own book. Since then, I’ve learned about Sara’s romantic suspense novel, The Watcher, and the romantic suspense series, The Seven Trilogy. Sara continues to serve the Lord in her day-to-day life, and it’s a privilege & a joy being able to read her blogs!

On the Edge Suspense

One of the earliest Sunday school songs I remember singing is, “Trust and Obey”. As I’m sure many of you remember, the words are: trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey. I remember singing those words with all my heart, believing them in every fibre of my being.

Somehow though, as life went on and problems and challenges got bigger and bigger, it became harder and harder to abandon myself to the absolute truth of those simple but profound lyrics, at least without nagging thoughts darting through my mind as I did. Thoughts like, Yes, but what if God doesn’t heal my friend who is going through cancer?
