True Transformation

One of the most beautiful aspect’s of God’s love is this: His love transforms us. When we receive His love, we suddenly have the desire to follow His commandments. The love of God is pure and true. It is the basis for the true transformation of the human heart. I am eternally grateful for God’s love, and how it was the basis of my heart transformation a few years ago.

In a recent documentary I watched called “Monumental”, Kirk Cameron set out on a mission to find out what made America such a thriving country in the first place. He spoke with different professors and historians, only to find out that the phrase “In God We Trust” actually meant something at one point in history. Kirk spoke with several experts, including Professor Herb Titus of Harvard, who explained the moral truths from the Bible were actually intended to be for the government.

One scene, in particular, caught my attention. It was where Kirk visited the National Monument to the forefathers. Weighing at 180 tons, this is the largest monument in America. The statue was built by the pilgrims, who were lead to victory by the Lord in a time of hardship. They wanted to leave behind a specific strategy of how to make America great again, how to be free, and what to do if America ever lost its freedom. This strategy is called “The Matrix of Liberty.”

The camera focuses in on a statue of a woman who points her finger up at the sky. Her name is Faith, and she’s pointing up at Heaven because that’s where God is. Her faith is in the God of the Bible, Jesus Christ. The woman hold’s a bible in her hands, with the pages opened to represent that she reads it. As she studies the Bible, she gains the wisdom that God gives in order to know how to live in this world. Several statues are attached to Faith, such as “Mercy” and “Justice” in order to show that without Faith, everything else will at some point fall apart.

After watching this documentary, I felt a sense of joy and conviction. Joy, because my faith is placed in Jesus Christ, the One who has forgiven me of my sins, set me free from many destructive habits, and has given me the gift of eternal life. Conviction because after some self-examination, I started to realize just how crucial it is to read, study, and live out God’s Word in order to be fully equipped in this fallen world and generation.

I do believe that any kind of external change begins with an internal change. If we want to see our country thrive and live in prosperity, we need to get our heart’s right with God. If placing our hope and trust in Jesus Christ leads to an abundant life full of God’s blessing, why are we afraid of giving Him our hearts? Is it because we’re afraid to face the Truth? Is it because we know that once we do find out the Truth about ourselves, no one will ever love us, not even God? Oh, how deceptive and cruel the enemy is.

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Luke 12:4-7

My prayer is that you, whoever you are, would seek the Lord and His forgiveness. I pray that you would find true rest and freedom in the Lord who takes away the sins of the world, and transforms each and every heart once we repent. I pray that through this blog post, you would see how desperate we are for God’s Word, in order to find His wisdom and start living by His moral standards. We need revival, but the only way revival can start is when our hearts are turned toward God and away from evil.
