Praise Him!

It is a new season, a new beginning, a new chapter in the books…

And what better way to start by praising the Lord for everything He has done, what He’s doing, and what His plans are for your life.

Last night, I posted a picture on my Instagram account of these two rocks I was lead to by the Holy Spirit on a beautiful, sunny day in Greece with my grandmother.

I rarely post pictures on social media anymore; I’m not sure why, but I feel as though if I post something I want it to speak of how I am so incredibly involve with my Father in heaven, and I want to give Him the glory vs. myself. So I decided to spread the good news about how great He is by sharing this story with my fellow followers of Instagram.

I woke up to a message from my aunt this morning, who made a point of praising God for all He is and all He has done. She said, if I had any worship CD’s to listen to and go somewhere quiet and just worship and praise Him. I never thought of this idea on my own, I always thought that worship had to be done on a Sunday morning in church. However, I was totally wrong because not only was I able to praise Him and worship Him in a place where I was not surrounded by anyone else, but it was actually so effective and powerful and truly I felt like I was meeting with Him right there, on my bedroom floor. There is no better place than to be in the arms of Jesus, and during that worship time I couldn’t have felt more at home. I needed to give Him recognition for all the things He has done for me, and for my friends, and for my family, and for His followers. He needs to know that He is WONDERFUL. That He is POWERFUL. That He is the almighty God who makes all grace abound towards us! He needs that He will be glorified because He is the one who casts down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against knowledge.

Do you ever have thoughts of fear, thoughts of doubt, thoughts of insecurity, thoughts of not measuring up to others, thoughts that completely steal your joy? Those are the exact thoughts that the enemy uses as a weapon against you because He knows that God has called you, that He has made you in HIS image. Satan knows that you were made on purpose, for a purpose, and will use those thoughts that do not align wit God’s Word to destroy you. Trust me, I know all about how the enemy works. He has tried multiple times, day after day, for several years to destroy me, to take away my joy, to give me reason why I’ll never succeed, that I will never make it or measure up to others. The truth is, is that I don’t need to measure myself to anyone except my God. Ephesians 5:1 says “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children” It does not say, be imitators of the world, or imitators of others who  you may idolize. It’s easy to walk according to the world but I’m telling you firsthand, it is an incredibly disappointing and miserable thing to do. When I’m measuring myself up to the girl who looks great in a swimsuit, or the girl who all the guys admire, or the girl who has perfect hair, perfect teeth, perfect body, I am only hurting myself because in 2 Corinthians 11:14 it says “Do you look at things according to the outer appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ’s, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ’s, even so we are Christs’.  We are NOT determined by are outer appearance. We are not chosen by our looks, we are chosen by our willingness to follow the Lord and trust in Him that His will for our life is the perfect will. If God required us to have the body like hers, or the hair style like his, or the clothes that she has, He would have given them to us. But, God knows exactly what we need and what we don’t need to carry out His plan for our life. Mathew 6:26 says “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” He is saying, look at the birds of the air and how they do not worry about what they have or don’t have because they know they be fed, and are we not more valuable than they are? So why, as children of the most High God, worry about our life? If we continue to wish for things we don’t have, rather than praising God for what we do have, how can we supply what other’s lack, and vice versa? Oh man, I love God so much I could write on and on about how much He loves you! He wants you to seek Him, He wants you to know that He is there and He loves you. I know it may be hard at times because you can’t always see with your eyes that He’s there, but when you truly stop and think about your life and consider all of the good things that have happened, that’s evidence for His love and blessings for you. He takes care of you no matter what. He also knows your every thought, every need, so you don’t need to worry about them. God’s got your back.

I may have gotten a little of track, but I wanted to share with you why it is so important to praise God and also, to reflect on what He has done. When I look back on the last few years, I would have never pictured myself where I am right now because I didn’t know having an intimate relationship with God was even possible. Now that I know, I am so thankful and feel incredibly honoured to know I am a chosen One. Summit yourself to God, and He will reveal Himself to you ❤

You are so loved.
